Marketing (A good or a bad world?)

The first thing that stroked me when i first heard the word marketing was "what is this marketing?"

Which i believe is same for everyone. Is it peeping into the minds of people and changing their thoughts, their needs, their ideas, their dreams, their taste, their aspirations, their habits, their desires and moulding them according to your products, your services, your ideas. It can also end up creating a new need.

So the idea that i am trying to come up with is, does marketing hits your privacy, does it end up creating more aspirations leading to more needs and stress among the people? Or it helps the economy as a whole by generating more needs which leads to more products which further leads to more work and employment for people and the growth for the economy as an whole.

Its just like two sides of a coin if you look at the first side it is like infringement of your privacy and making your own thoughts paralyzed on the other side if you look at the bigger picture it makes you think that Marketing is not a support function but the heart and soul of any business...Now its up to us how we look at the scenario and from which angle.

INDIANS R Not Just SURVIVORS

We INDIANS are at such an advantage that we can survive everywhere & anywhere in this world.Its not just climatically as we are well averse to both high & low temperatures,but also because of our economic nature.

Let me give a small eg. for dis.A man got a 1.5 metres of cloth from a shop to get his Pyzama stiched,after using it for 2 yrs. its converted into boxers(kachas in desi language)even thn its not thrown after 2 yrs ladies of the family convert it into a 'Thaila' which goes around for 1 yr .Finally(no-no its still not thrown)its used for cleaning the vehicles(car,scooters,cycles etc...)a perfect eg of optimum utilization.We indians dont believe in wasting(APPEAL-SAVE WATER,SAVE ELECTRICITY)

The point i want to make is tht we underestimate our strengths,tht is ability to give the best within the economic constraints.Let me give some eg's for dis ARAVIND NETRALAYAM(ARAVIND EYE HOSPITAL) where the cost of lens implant is just $16;this compared with more thn $1,000 in US hospitals & considering Arvind did 2,50,000 such operations successfully last year.Similarly the Jaipur Foot which fits prostheses for as little as $30 (against $1,000 in US) could be considered a $160 billion firm,based on its scale of operation and on US cost.The jaipur foot fitted 16,000 artificial feets last year,as against just 4,000 by the next best firm abroad.KARSANBHAI PATEL & his Nirma,are now an internationally celeberated story in modern business.Its a regular case study in management schools.

The thing tht is common over here and the point which i want to make,is tht there is a lot that can be achieved even within the 'constraint'.There is no arguing with th fact tht more economic reforms will benefit th nation.There is no dearth of talent & creativity its just tht problem of implementation. We indians dnt celeberate our small victories enough,certainly not publicly and thts why ideas dnt spread or inspire others.

All i want to say in the end is "MONEY SAVED THROUGH RIGHT MANNER IS, MONEY EARNED THROUGH EASIEST MANNER"

Why PRODIGY?
Many of my friends asked me "Why PRODIGY?"
M not a prodigy because i have never topped in my class,m not a prodigy because i have never exceeded in sports,m not a prodigy because i was never an outstanding student,m not a prodigy because i have always been a mediocre student and have never done wonders at my school or college age in my life.If all these things make u prodigy,thn m not.

But is life all about being a prodiguous child? is it only those people who make big in life? so thn "WHY PRODIGY?" How can i be a prodigy?

Prodigy because i have values,prodigy because i respect my nation,prodigy because i have an urge to make this country the best place to live in,prodigy because i want to change the system,prodigy because i want to see every child of this nation going to school,prodigy because i want the women of our country to feel themselves safe both in and out of there "mother's womb"

Prodigy to me is dis.Prodigy to me is every child of this nation,who in his or her own way can take this country forward.......
